From ‘Saturday Boy’ to international session-stylist…
“I got a Saturday job in a salon and instantly fell in love with hairdressing. I got a real buzz from doing something creative that also made people feel better about themselves and by the time I left school I’d realised it was all I wanted to do.”
Simon’s career in hairdressing began at just 15yrs old and by 21, he was one of the original L’Oreal ID Artists, styling across the world and developing his skills over years of working on fashion and editorial work.
Over the following years, he opened his own salons and cemented his reputation in the hairdressing industry, leading the hair on some of London Fashion Week’s most ambitious shows. He’s been a UK Ambassador for L’Oreal, TiGi, Goldwell, Shu Uemura and KMS. And is now a certified Calligraphy Cut stylist, one of only a handful of artists trained to offer the Calligraphy Cut method.
Now he has come full-circle and returned to his roots, founding Simon Webster Hair in his hometown of Brighton. Simon splits his time between working in-salon at SWH, editorial-styling and mentoring developing talent.
An established UK Guest Artist for international brands, a member of The Fellowship For British Hairdressing and a freelance educator, he brings a wealth of experience, skill and insight to his work, both in-salon and in-studio.
“We opened SWH where I spent my youth; in the North Laine rabbit warren of streets that houses Brighton’s most bohemian, vibrant and eclectic stores and cafes – it’s all about independents, musos and creatives which perfectly reflects the ethos behind the SWH brand.”
Simon’s true passion is styling his clients in-salon.
He brings his experiences in session into the salon to inspire, inform and innovate, embracing all hair textures, trends and techniques.
He offers specialist services for alopecia, medical-related hair loss and wig styling. Simon supports your journey from initial consultation, wig selection, creating a personal look and follow-up styling as their hair returns.
